How Do you stay committed ?

Well this is my third time trying to write this blog cross your fingers it is the last ! So my most pressing question is how do you stay committed to this quest we call diet & Fitness ! I have really fallen off the wagon hard this time and not really sure which way is up ! I am not complaining because there is no one to blame but myself ! I have the little devil sitting on one shoulder screaming who cares what you look like ! Then on the other side is the little angel that keeps kicking me in the head saying “Get up and get your butt moving girl !” I’m not really sure who’s winning yet however ! Maybe I need to revamp my attitude and try my best to do what I know is right ! I know one thing for sure I don’t want to be a Super duper jumbo jet walking down the aisle next month for my vow renewal ! Oh yes, I want to thank all of you who commented on my last blog a couple of weeks ago ! I didn’t forget you ! I am so pissed at myself for my lack of enthusiasm to get my butt moving ! I was starting to get myself back on track last week and the Fourth came and knocked me straight off my chair ! I welcome all of your ideas ! I am going to end this blog before I start having a pity party for myself soon ! hope y’all are doing great love you guys ! Hugs, Kimmi

I think this is something that is difficult for everyone. For me I stay motivated by reminding myself about all the positives that are associated with workout. First I know my health and energy are better. I strongly associate working out with this development. I also remind myself of all the weight and inches I have lost. I know that without working out I wouldn’t be where I am today. You have to find what motivates you. It could be any variety of things.

I’ve recently lost my motivation as well. I was maintaining for months and recently started gaining which put my motivation back in place. It is so easy to fall off track and a lot harder to fix it. In the past when I would lose motivation I just had to keep pushing myself, I know how good it feels to work out and eat healthy. It IS a conscious effort for me and I think it always will be. Maybe you can make a list of 10 or 15 things you want to accomplish by losing the weight, or reasons you want to lose weight. That really seems to help me a lot and when I feel like skipping a work out or pigging out I can remember why I’m striving to improve my life and why I can’t give up. Some people like get a picture of a girl in a bikini or something and let that be their motivation. For me, my version of that is buying one pair of pants or a shirt that is a size smaller and trying it on once a week. Seeing it get looser is great motivation. I hope you find whatever it is will help you and don’t get too frustrated! I know you can do it.

This battle is over with me due to a little light hypnosis from Paul McKenna. I simply eat to feed my hunger and it seems so easy now. It is effortless and I will never do anything else other then to respect my hunger and only eat when truly hungry. So much ease.

As for you, you will figure out what is best. Wish you luck Kimmi. :)

I am self motivating…but I don’t know how I can share it with you..sorry. I think it comes from within, but once you find it and keeps you going. Now, don’t get me wrong…I have weeks when I just don’t want to exercise, or I want to eat. So I relax and eat something! Otherwise it will get boring and I will feel like I am forcing myself to do something I hate..I don’t want that! I want being healthy and exercise to be something I enjoy. It is a celebration of life!

I can honestly tell you that the only reason I am motivated this time and have confidence that I will have success at the weight loss is because it isn’t about how I look. Of course, it will definately be a plus to look really hot but, my motivation is my health. I want to live a healthy lifestyle and set an example for my kids.

Kimmi I think that is the toughest question to answer.

I really think its different for everyone and that it changes for everyone too.
It can change for me from day to day.

Somehow you gotta find what really matters to you and how important it is to you.
What is it that will drive you to get down to business and do the things you know you need to do to accomplish your goals.

You know how it feels to lose weight and to feel better and to fit into smaller clothes.
    Remember how great that felt?
Think about how badly you want that.
Picture where you could be a few months from now if you just lost one or two pounds a week.

Set small goals that you can reach in a reasonable amount of time so that you will feel successful and then you can set a new goal.
Write them down where you can see them or even post them here where we can help hold you accountable.
That’s just an idea and if it works for you then why not?

Best of luck to you Kimmi

I remind myself every day of my goals and that only I can choose if I succeed or fail and now for me, failure is no longer an option.

    Good luck with your goals.

I stay motivated by having a little black dress hanging on my door so that if I want to fit into it I know I have to eat healthy that day. I also find that blogging here keeps me motivated and accountable.

Make out a list, and post it where you can see it. Also put up index cards with self affirmations on them. Come on here and blog and read as much as you can. You can do this!
